About HLL Records

HLL Records is a Hell Let Loose records archive to give you insights into your performance and growth as a player.

Data cutoff / missing data

The HLL Records data comes from the public CRCON scoreboards provided by the server operators. If a server does not have a public CRCON scoreboard, matches played on that server can not be recorded by HLL Records and the data for these matches will be missing from your stats.

Historical data is limited by each server's data retention policy. Many servers have purged older match logs at some point, making their data lost forever. Servers that were shut down completely are also lost forever.

In addition, there's a bug in CRCON that makes many older matches unavailable via the public scoreboard API. Because of this, HLL Records can only show matches going back to around May 2023, even if the servers have kept logs before that date. We are working on getting this bug fixed in the CRCON project so we can also import these older matches.

The good news is that once a match is recorded by HLL Records, it will stay in the database permanently, even if the server later purges its logs. So your stats will only get more complete over time as you play more matches on servers tracked by HLL Records.

Data update frequency

New matches will appear within 5 minutes of the match completing and appearing on the server's CRCON scoreboard.

Leaderboards are updated about once every 3 hours. This interval is affected by the number of servers tracked and leaderboards generated, and may increase as more communities and leaderboards are added. See the leaderboard page for the last update time (it's different for each community).

Global leaderboard

A global leaderboard is on the wishlist, but this is not feasible with the current leaderboard generation architecture due to the server memory that would be required to accumulate the stats of all 4.8 million+ players and generate the leaderboards. A rewrite of the leaderboard generation could make this possible in the future, but there are currently no plans to do so as it would take a lot of effort while the global leaderboard would probably not be that interesting to that many players.

Patreon? Advertisements?

No thank you. There are no plans to monetize HLL Records in any way. I do this for fun and the server costs are on me.
